## ## Maidstone Fringe Festival to be held over six days up to the Bank Holiday weekend
Organisers of the ninth Maidstone Fringe Festival have added an extra day to this year’s event to fit in extra acts.
The annual music event will now run from Wednesday, May 1 to Bank Holiday Monday, May 6, filling the town’s pubs, clubs and music venues with a range of diverse live acts.
Dub Pistols will perform at Maidstone Fringe FestivalWith a new album, Addict, due out later this year, a documentary and their own festival, Barry Ashworth’s merry gang are like a 21st century equivalent of The Specials and the 2 Tone movement, which reflected the multi racial nature of the UK’s inner cities back in the day. The band play a riotous collision of drum bass, hip hop, ska, dub and punk.
Brix And The Extricated featuring Brix Smith, Steve Hanley and Paul Hanley from The Fall will play the Music Room at Pizza Express on Friday, May 3, supported by Medway garage rock band The Len Price 3.
Brix and the Extricated will be at Maidstone Fringe FestivalBack by popular demand will be “chap hop” pioneer, Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, with support from Kent star Funke and the Two Tone Baby and Maidstone artist Clea Llewellyn on Thursday, May 2 at the Music Room.
Saturday, May 4 will see the return of soul legend Geno Washington, with support from King Size Slim and on Bank Holiday Monday Nine Below Zero play.
Incorporated within the festival, supported by local business including One Maidstone BID and Victa Railfreight, are a number of all day events as well as family friendly entertainment in cafes and coffee shops in the town centre.
